Port of Iberia
Connected
A 2,000 acre industrial and manufacturing site surrounding a man-made port complex, the Port of Iberia has access to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico through its own Commercial Canal and has access to the Mississippi River through major ports in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. With over 100 industries located and operating at the Port of Iberia, some 5,000 employees and an annual payroll in excess of $166 million dollars, the Port of Iberia generates 1.4 billion dollars in economic impact for Iberia Parish. Offering new bulkheading and dredging projects, expanding the waterfront property, and ample undeveloped land, the possibilities are unlimited.
Growth
Crucial in the continued development of The Port of Iberia is the deepening of the Acadiana Gulf of Mexico Access channel (AGMAC). A $38 million dollar project funded by the State of Louisiana Capital Outlay funds, the project is expected to be complete by the end of 2022, creating a 16’ depth in the Commercial Canal up to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
